Two words that bring back the fondest memories for most people.
Field Trip.
I just got an email from the University to clear my schedule for two Saturdays late in the semester because a class that I'm taking is going to forego class two evenings during the semester for weekend field trips. FIELD TRIPS!!! My last field trip was during freshman year in Geology (my 10:30 MWF class) in fall of 1998. Yes, this is the kind of historical memory that a field trip renders upon my head. I couldn't tell you crap about any of the classes I took freshman year. I can tell you that there is quicksand in the Arbuckles, that the Arbuckle mountains were formed in the Precambrian era and have a beautiful mix of granite, sandstone, and limestone, and that I fell asleep in the bus on the way back because we had to leave at 7am that day (I probably had fallen asleep two hours before).
Life altering. Thats what a field trip is.
Ethics midterm down, Derivatives to go.
Hurray Arbuckles!
Huzzah Field Trip!
Till next time.

this cracks me up because my geography class also took a field trip to the arbuckles... and then some cave... and who knows where else, but nobody remembers cause we were in a bus for about 10 hours.
