So I'm getting ready to leave work for the day when the 'old-timer' walks up to me. (He's about 75 years old). This was the exchange...
"Looks like you've lost some weight." he says.
"Yeah, I've lost about 20lbs. since the beginning of the year."
"Yessir, its really noticable."
"Well thanks, I've been working hard."
"Just think, another 20 pounds and you'll be in shape."
"...."
Yes that's right, a compliment from the old guy and then he sweeps the rug from under me.
Sigh.
2.5 weeks till graduation!
Till next time.

Come in, come in...
Storytime Sunday.
Went to visit a client of mine at a nursing home to help her with some stuff. Client was finishing lunch so I just took a seat near the door.
In the middle of the entrance foyer is a guestbook in front of a little circular garden. Around and around this little circular garden is a senior woman walking with a walker. Around and around.
On her third lap around, she stops suddenly and slowly looks up at me with a bizarre toothless grin and says...
"Come in, come in to my parlour said the spider to the fly".
I've never been so simultaneously overjoyed and scared out of my mind in my whole life.
Half of me wanted to run screaming and half wanted to high five her.
All I could do was smile back and say 'Thanks!'.

Ah I'm Lovin' It!
SPRING BREAK!
Went to see the Thunder play tonight. Loss. We played the Utah Jazz.
Little known fact: Utah is the birthplace of Jazz - hence the name.

Jazz!
I think that I love having my evenings free without class. Eight more weeks.
Month (Phase) 3 of P90X starts tomorrow. I've been pretty good about keeping up with it but because of how crazy it is and the amount of soreness I have some days, it'll be closer to P120X when the mrs. and I are done. Can't complain though, 7% body fat loss and about 16lbs. Things work when you stick to them. Now if only I could get my bar to carry Sam Adams Light.

Tony!
Class starts Monday... 11 days over too quick...

Here comes finals...
The module from hell is almost over. I'm sitting in Business Ethics as I write this. Is that ethical? I'm not sure. All I know is this is the last lecture before the final next week. Final Tuesday, final Wednesday, final Thursday.
Then... Spring Break! Fun fact: in Canada it is refered to as "Reading Week" HA!

I got a little depressed today at work. I realized that for my entire adult life, the stock market is negative on an absolute basis. That means that every penny that I've saved for my whole life has lost part of its value. Why am I doing this again? The mrs. says it is because I'm good at it. Damn straight. Start paying attention, I'll tell you when its time to start putting some money aside for retirement soon.

Another Fat Tuesday.
Oh yeah. Sunday was my birthday and I got a cold. I did get a badass cake though.
I'll share something that gave me a good laugh yesterday (and gave me nightmares last night).
The Fat Tuesday tradition of the cake with the baby inside. People cut pieces of the cake until someone gets the baby. That creepy wierd baby.

Well, at my previous employment, I suppose I got the baby. (I coulda sworn it was another guy). Nonetheless, my old coworkers decided to mail it to me with some best wishes...
The letter showed up... no baby. There was a hole in the letter and the envelope that looked like a mouse got to it.
The baby chewed its way out of the letter.
Does anyone understand what this means??? There is a rabid plastic king cake baby loose in Oklahoma City. Watch yourselves.
Till next time.

Apparently I have issues with ethics.
Two words that bring back the fondest memories for most people.
Field Trip.
I just got an email from the University to clear my schedule for two Saturdays late in the semester because a class that I'm taking is going to forego class two evenings during the semester for weekend field trips. FIELD TRIPS!!! My last field trip was during freshman year in Geology (my 10:30 MWF class) in fall of 1998. Yes, this is the kind of historical memory that a field trip renders upon my head. I couldn't tell you crap about any of the classes I took freshman year. I can tell you that there is quicksand in the Arbuckles, that the Arbuckle mountains were formed in the Precambrian era and have a beautiful mix of granite, sandstone, and limestone, and that I fell asleep in the bus on the way back because we had to leave at 7am that day (I probably had fallen asleep two hours before).

Life altering. Thats what a field trip is.
Ethics midterm down, Derivatives to go.
Hurray Arbuckles!
Huzzah Field Trip!
Till next time.

Let's hear it for the 'dents.
Another weekend comes crawling to an end... or does it???
Thanks to the government and their goal of enjoying a holiday 10 out of the 12 months, I get tomorrow off (the financial markets are also on holiday). Thanks presidents.
Pretty lazy weekend, I've got two midterms this week. Been working on a delicious mix of Derivatives and Business Ethics.
"I choose Business Ethics".
I've long had a problem with attention span. A 2000 page Business Law book in front of me is one of the many catalysts to this problem. I think that I've found the answer I've been looking for... NASCAR. Popped on the Daytona 500 (with very low volume, the commentary is enough to make you drink, and I'm not sponsored by Budweiser), and studied all afternoon. There were seven or eight cautions and it ended early for bad weather. Concentration is a lot easier when the only distractions are car wrecks. Congrats to Kenseth.
I think I'm going to go make hamburgers.
